I
mentioned a few weeks ago about my spending ban or my “try not to buy” as I
prefer to call it so I’ve got a little update this week on what I’ve been
buying recently and justification to myself as to why!
My
main expenditure was on Cult Beauty as they had their infamous spring goody bag
up for grabs last month when you spent over £100. I tend to add things to my
wish list then when this offer comes around (usually every season) I have a
splurge because the GWP is so good! I also talked a little more about what
offers I like to wait for in my Best UK Beauty Sites and How to Save Money post a while back!
Standard!
This is my favourite way to apply foundation and I recently opened a new one so
this is my back up! It will probably be a few months before I open it but I
didn’t want to waste money on something I don’t need and I know this will get
used!
I
loved my Foreo Luna Play that I got in my last Cult Beauty GWP and it was
something I would never have bought had I not had the chance to try it! When
the GWP offer came around I took the opportunity to upgrade to the rechargeable
Luna Go! I actually haven’t tried this out yet because I still have some uses
left in my Luna Play so I can’t say much about this yet but I have high hopes
as I love the Play so much!
Fairydrops Brow Wow Wow Liner in Natural Brunette |
Fairydrops Brow Wow Wow Liner
I’ve
wanted a felt tip eyebrow pen for ages as I love my Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil and wanted to try another one. I got this in the shade Natural
Brunette and it’s got a nice fine felt tip but it’s very sheer and I find I’m usually
happier when I top up with a standard brow pencil. I definitely prefer the Soap
and Glory and it’s cheaper too for a double sided product!
Have a
nosy at what was in the goody bag on my Instagram!
I
can’t begin to tell you how long I’ve wanted this palette for and even though I
definitely didn’t need another eyeshadow palette in my collection I couldn’t
pass this one up when my friend asked if I wanted anything back from America a
few weeks ago! I won’t go into much more detail at the minute because I’m going
to have a full review up on Thursday about this but spoiler alert I LOVE it!
Boots Botanics Radiant Youth Hydrating Eye Cream
I can’t
find this on the website at the moment but I picked it up because I ran out of
eye cream and had a few pounds left on a gift card! I’ve used this before and it’s
perfect for the daytime as it’s so lightweight and absorbs quickly but I do
prefer something a little richer at night!
ASOS
recently had 20% off for St. Patrick’s Day so I took advantage and picked up a
couple of products I’ve wanted to try for ages including this primer! The
Ordinary are known for being incredibly affordable while not skimping on quality
and I love the other products I own by them. I’ve been using this all week and I’m
just not sure about at the minute, I love the formula and how it feels on my
skin but I’ve been retrying a few foundations I hate so I think that is swaying
my opinion a little – stay tuned though because I will definitely revisit with
my favourite foundations and see how it holds up!
This
was actually part of a Mother’s Day present for my mum but I wanted to include
it because I will totally be borrowing it! I’ve only used it once so can’t say much
about it, but it targets the signs of aging and textural irregularities and I
have high hopes for it as I’ve been noticing massive creases in between my eyes
because I squint so much so I’m hoping this helps!
Have
you tried anything I’ve mentioned? What have you been buying recently?

ReplyDeletewww.lpagebeauty.com
Better than a ban right? The palette is amazing, I have been using it non stop! Xx
DeleteSuch a detailed review! Thank you! I really want to get my hands on some Ordinary products :) xo
ReplyDeleteEditionemmagrace - Lifestyle blogger & style sharer
They are great! Xx
DeleteI received a Beauty Blender in the post this week and I am so excited to try it, I've only ever tried dupes of the original so I can't wait to see how it compares.
ReplyDeleteAlice | alicemaysnell
It's amazing! I find it so much so much softer and bouncier! Xx
DeleteFor a 'try not to buy' it's a nice haul, haha! I've ordered the Foreo Luna Play as a part of my birthday present and I can't wait to try it :) x

You need to, it's amazing! Xx
DeleteI love botanics, their products are soooo good!
ReplyDeletex,abril
The Color Palette
I need to try more! Xx
DeleteI love The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid and it'll be one of the few products that I will repurchase from the brand. I was supposed to be on a spending ban myself but it lasted only a mere couple of weeks before it flew out the bloody window. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHaha I know how you feel Shireen! I've already spent since I wrote this up too! Xx
DeleteI've always eyed up those Cult Beauty GWP goodie bags with envy, they look so incredible, and if you've got a few things you need/want to buy and have saved them up to buy all in one go then it definitely makes sense. I also really want to try some things from the Ordinary, including the Advanced Retinol, but I'm going to finish up what I've got first before buying anything new.
ReplyDeletelittlehenrylee.net
You're better than I am! I always wait to splurge in Cult Beauty, they never seem to have money off offers so the GWP is the best way to get more for your money I think! Xx
DeleteI feel the same way about my beauty blender. I hate repurchasing it, but I always feel like I have to. Waiting for that moment when I discover something else!
ReplyDeleteKathy x
Alongcamekathy
I dont think I will! Xx
DeleteI've never tried a proper beauty blender, I mean, I've used the Real Technique one because it's much cheaper and I think it does the job. Do you think there is much difference between the two?
ReplyDeleteCaterina | www.caterinasosso.com
I haven't used the RT one in years but I found a massive difference which is why I stuck with the Beauty Blender! Haven't tried any of their new ones though but I find the beauty blender to be softer and easier to bounce! Xx
DeleteTry not to buy sounds so much better than spending ban!
ReplyDeleteI love the Lorac Pro & Beauty Blender. I think I'll buy a Luna Play because it sounds great! xx
Beautylymin
I think so to! Love the Luna, so gentle! Xx
DeleteI've heard so so much about The Ordinary products, but I have yet to try them, and I know they can be hit or a miss and I'm always so scared when it comes to new skincare but they seem great for their price xx
ReplyDeletetipscapsule.blogspot.com
I know what you mean! I've heard a few of them have broke people out but these 2 and the Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide have been fine for me! Xx
DeleteYou did pretty good for try not to buy :) You should keep us updated with the primer and how it wears with your favourite foundations, I hope it will be good! I recently noticed one annoying crease in between my eyes and whenever I look at the mirror, it is the first thing I see... I have that retinoid in my wishlist. First I should start using argireline solution, maybe it helps with it :) x
ReplyDeleteEla BellaWorld
I will! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on what you got - you've made me want to try the argireline now too! Xx

DeleteDon't worry, every now and again it's good to spend...hahah! I've been wanting to try a Lorac palette for ages, they was a huge hype around them and since it's died down I kind of forgot about them until this post! Looks like your getting on the Ordinary product bandwagon, there's only me left I think!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte / Charlotte's Picks
The Ordinary is fab - I wrote about their Alpha Arbutin and Nicinamide a while back, great for blemis/pigmentation issues xx
DeleteI would definitely ask for a Lorac palette if I had a friend going over to the states. I am dying to try it!
ReplyDeleteVanessa x | www.springlilies.com
Best thing I did! Xx
DeleteI am so happy for you getting your hands on the Lorac palette hun. Cannot wait for that review xxx

DeleteI love your post title! Haha. Lorac Pro is such a beauty! The Fairydrops Brow Wow Wow Liner looks very light. It doesn't look usable, too bad.
ReplyDelete- Gretch of GG Memochou
I've set it upside down in a pot now and it's much better! Xx
DeleteHaha the title of this post is so funny, I ''try not to buy'' things too but 80% I fail. The Lorac palette is so beautiful, there was a time that everyone was talking about it :)

DeleteJust like you I bought to get the Spring Goodie Bag, but I managed to come over 100 GBP with just one item. Crazy, I know, but I just needed to have it.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking
Haha easily done! I always hold out for the GWP! Xx
DeleteI've been trying not to buy anything from The Ordinary for too long.. I think I'll have to cave soon haha
ReplyDeletehttp://claresloves.blogspot.co.uk/
Yes definitely cave! Xx
DeleteI loooove Beauty Blender. I pretty much can't exist without it and feel somewhat paranoid about forgetting it somewhere (especially when traveling). I can do my entire face (well except eye make-up) with it and it always works! xx
ReplyDeleteNaya // www.partyparrotblog.com
Apart from the Beauty Blender, I haven't tried any of these. The Ordinary products are high on my wish list and that lorac palette looks beautiful too!!
