Trying Coco & Eve Haircare and Bodycare: My Full Review

I’ve been meaning to write this review up for ages so glad I am finally sitting down to talk about these products now! Coco & Eve was created by an Australian husband and wife team who used Bali as inspiration for the brand! I also didn’t realise that the wife, Emily Hamilton also co-created the Sand & Sky skincare brand with her twin sister Sarah Hamilton!

coco and eve review

Starting off with Coco & Eve’s haircare offerings and the Like A Virgin Miracle Hair Elixir*. This is described as a multi-tasking hair oil to hydrate dry hair and protect from breakage and split ends. It is one of the most lightweight hair oils I have tried and the squeeze bottle makes it so easy to control how much product you dispense. It’s non-greasy and doesn’t weigh my hair down and leaves it looking shiny and soft to touch! It also heat protects up to 220°C and one of the main things I look for in hair treatments is heat protection! I love this both on damp hair or on dry hair especially when my hair is due a wash as it really helps revive it and makes it look less dry at the ends! It is formulated with the signature Coconut & Fig scent which smells amazing!

coco and eve like a virgin hair masque review

Sticking with the viral Like A Virgin range and the Super Nourishing Coconut and Fig Hair Masque* next! Usually, I don’t see a huge difference between normal conditioners and hair masks but with this one I can really see and feel the difference in my hair! It’s an intensively nourishing formula containing shea butter and argan oil to detangle hair and tame frizz. I let this marinate in my hair for 5-10 minutes while I’m in the shower then wash out and style as normal. It’s a 5-in-1 formula that revives dry damaged hair, restores it to its virgin state, repairs hair from the inside out, conditions from root to tip and tames frizz & split ends for smoother hair. The result is manageable, soft, shiny and hydrated hair with no straw like ends and the coconut scent makes me feel like I am on vacation! Also spoke about it in my 2025 Summer Essentials and Best Haircare Discoveries of 2025!

I also have a mini of the Sweet Repair Repairing and Restoring Hair Masque that I got in a gift with purchase and it’s great too! It is clinically proven to transform heat-damaged hair by deeply restoring with a power blend of biomimetic ceramides, hyaluronic acid and vegan keratin. This one is more salon quality and intense in its structural repair than the Like a Virgin masque. As a serial hair straightener, I love rotating these two each week! My hair feels stronger and feels softer when using them! This one has more of a floral/fruity scent.

Next up, the Hair Repairing Leave-In Treatment* and I have the old packaging here but still the same great product! It’s clinically proven to repair damaged hair in 3 minutes and formulated with Oligopeptide 78, Biomimetic Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid to deeply repair and restore. Coco & Eve recommend to shampoo hair before use but not condition which feels weird, but this is so concentrated it makes it easier for the product to penetrate the hair! This makes my hair feel so soft and hydrated and I trust that it's working to strengthen and repair my hair from heat damage!

coco & eve haircare review

Moving onto some bodycare products now and the Firming and Tan Prolonging Peptide Body Oil*! This is such a luxe addition to my bodycare routine! I don’t go out of my way to tan but my arms and feet pick up some colour when I am out and about and this has been great at hydrating my skin and extending the longevity of my tan! It contains peptides, hyaluronic acid and inca inchi oil – a source of omega 3 and fatty acids. I love the formula which is more of a dry oil so it feels lightweight, isn’t greasy and dries down quickly! It also smells lovely and tropical! Just to note as well this one isn’t for use with fake tanning products containing DHA!

Lastly, the Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam in Medium* and Soft Velvet Tanning Mitt*. The mitt is so soft and I love how easy the shape makes it for applying tan! The medium shade is perfect for me to add some colour but keep things looking natural and this duo ensures a streak free finish every time! The tan has a green-grey base to ensure a golden glow and the guide colour makes it easy to apply! It also has a fresh, fruity scent on application. I make sure to exfoliate well beforehand and moisturise areas like my elbows and heels before applying the tan, and moisturise every day to extend its wear. When it’s time to remove, an exfoliating mitt and some shower oil work well to remove it and start over!

Overall, I have been loving these products! They are definitely worth checking out, especially if you are in the market for some new haircare! They tick all the boxes for me - smell amazing, repair my hair and leave it soft and shiny and the hair elixir offers heat protection! Have you tried Coco & Eve? Let me know your favourite products!

Five Things I’m Loving | August 2020

It’s been a while since I did one of these so I thought I would gather up a few current favourites to share today!

phytojoba mask Melrose Place review

Although Olaplex will always be my favourite hair treatment, the Phyto PhytoJoba Mask is a great option that leaves my hair soft and manageable as well as hydrated and healthy looking! It's concentrated so a little goes a long way and it smells like coconuts. I leave it on for as long as possible and it acts as a conditioner. If your ends are as parched as mine are you need to try this, they will thank you for it!

ouai melrose place north bondi review

While I was repurchasing my beloved OUAI North Bondi perfume I decided I would also splash out and pick up the OUAI Melrose Place Eau de Parfum and I am so glad I did! Melrose Place also lasts longer on my skin than North Bondi so that’s a plus too! If you have sniffed the OUAI rose hair and body oil or their scalp and body scrub you will know what this smells like already! It’s beautiful! I’ve included the notes here for anyone who is more of a perfume buff than I am but I just know that I love it! It’s not overpowering at all yet still unique and I can’t get enough of it!

Top Notes: Champagne, Pink Peppercorn, Berry, and Lychee.

Heart Notes: Peony, Rose, Freesia, Jasmine, and Bergamot.

Base Notes: Amber, Sandalwood, White Musk, and Cedar-wood.

My latest lipbalm love is the Sol de Janeiro Cupuaçu Brazilian Kiss lip butter. It’s huge and leaves a gorgeous hydrating sheen behind and it lasts so long between top ups! It contains cupuaçu, acai and coconut oil and makes my lips feel so soft! The scent is not overpowering at all and once it’s on you can barely smell it!

collection primed and ready powder review

I’ve got a new budget powder contender in the Collection Primed and Ready Invisible Setting Powder which was an impulse buy a few months ago. I hate wasting my Laura Mercier as I obviously haven’t been going anywhere so I thought I would try this and at £3.99 (and I think there was money off when I bought it) I have been super impressed! It’s a very finely milled mattifying powder that doesn’t cling to dry patches and does a very good job of keeping my oils at bay! Not bad for under £4!

nature lab tokyo clarifying scalp scrub review

After trying the Nature Lab Tokyo Perfect Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub (Affiliate link - 10% off with code Danielle10) in mini form from a GWP I knew I had to get the full size. It contains sugar crystals to exfoliate and is my go to when I leave my hair for an extra day and use dry shampoo instead of actually washing it. It does a great job of getting rid of build-up and makes my scalp feel invigorated. I find with some scalp scrubs I can’t even seem to get it worked into my scalp but this is the most amazing formula – it’s sulphate free however lathers up well and it’s really easy to get it worked into the scalp! It leaves my hair shiny and feeling hydrated but not weighed down. Love it!

Let me know if you have tried any of the products I’ve mentioned or what you have been loving recently!

P.S. I hate the new blogger layout, anyone else? (if that's what you use!)

Product Empties #3

Product empties soap and glory nivea alpha h lee stafford dove loreal burts bees vo5

Hi everyone, today I have another empties post for you and again it seems to have piled up without me noticing! Sorry!

product empties haircare loreal elvive dove vo5 lee stafford

Haircare
Loreal Elvive Nutrition Gloss Light Shine Shampoo 400ml
I have been buying this shampoo for years and its one I can’t do without! This is my ultimate shiny hair shampoo and I love it! Constant repurchase!

Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture for Fine Flat Hair Shampoo 250ml
I really liked this shampoo, it has a great fresh scent and cleaned my hair really well without dragging it down. I can't say I saw much of a difference in volume but nothing works in my hair anyway! Would definitely repurchase!

Avon Advanced Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner 250ml
Another hair product I’ve had for ages, I finished the shampoo version of this quickly but conditioners are a whole different story for me! I love the smell of this, I think it’s an apple scent and it made my hair really soft and a lot less frizzy after drying! Would repurchase!

Vo5 Refresh Me Quick Dry Shampoo
I love the scent of this dry shampoo and the fact that unlike Batiste the spray comes out clear so leaves no white cast! I usually buy this in Savers but haven’t been able to find it the last few times I've been in :( hoping they haven’t stopped selling it or even worse, making it! Will definitely repurchase if I can find it again!

Lee Stafford Treatment For Hair That Never Grows Past A Certain Length 200ml
I have had this product for ages too and this is about the second or third pot I have gone through. While I’m not sure it made my hair grow any longer as I already have quite long hair, it definitely made my hair a lot softer and more manageable! It’s on offer in Boots quite often and it’s worth noting that it’s scented like one of the Thierry Mugler perfumes, either Angel or Alien, I can’t remember which! Would repurchase!

product empties body care soap and glory johnsons

Body Care
Soap and Glory Foam Call Body Wash 500ml
This isn’t my favourite Soap and Glory scent but it’s still nice. The product itself lathers really well but it annoys me how it doesn’t have a pump like some of the other body washes! I wouldn’t actually repurchase this particular body wash as I prefer Clean on Me or  Clean Girls but I always get some Soap and Glory sets for my birthday and Christmas so I will probably happily use another one of these in the future!

Johnsons Baby Lotion 200ml
No babies here but I love the smell of this and it's always on offer! It’s not the richest moisturiser but I love putting it on before bed as the scent is quite powdery and relaxing and I think it helps me fall asleep! Would repurchase!

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter Body Moisturiser 50ml
This was a mini I had that I took with me on a night away to Dublin then just continued using when I got home! I think I have mentioned it in previous empties posts before, it is a favourite of mine and one I will always repurchase :)

product empties skincare nivea alpha h liquid gold

Skin Care
Nivea q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Pore Refining Day Cream SPF 15 50ml
This is maybe my third of forth pot of this moisturiser, I love the scent, it’s quite fresh and not too overpowering. I really like how this feels on my face too, it dries in quickly and smooth’s over my face giving me a good base before I put on makeup! Would repurchase!

Alpha H Liquid Gold 100ml
This is my second bottle of this and I love it! I use it a few times a week and find my skin to be a lot smoother and it just looks in better condition, I can’t quite put my finger on it!  I’m currently using the Fist Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads but also have a new bottle of the Liquid Gold in the house that my mum has conveniently swiped so I will share it with her :)

product empties cutex nail polish remover burts bees hand salve

Misc
Cutex Ultra Cleansing Nail Polish Remover 200ml
This is probably the third or fourth bottle of this I have gone through! I like the fact its ultra-cleansing and I find it removes my nail polish with ease! Already repurchased!

Burt’s Bees Hand Salve 8.5g
I got this in a set ages ago and found that a little goes a long way with this product! It has quite a strong scent and includes almond oil, rosemary and lavandin to moisturise, stimulate circulation and prevent scarring! I found this to be quite greasy to use all over my hands but it worked really well on my elbows, heels and cuticles! Would repurchase!

See my previous empties here and here!

Again, apologies for the length of this post, congrats if you made it to the end! I absolutely love doing theses posts and feel like I’ve got through so much stuff I've had sitting “nearly finished” for ages! I’m also getting through sample sizes and alternatives to products I love instead of rushing out to buy a replacement straight away so I’m feeling really productive! Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products above and what you thought of them :)
