Skincare and Makeup Review | Naked Sundays SPF

Vegan and cruelty free Aussie SPF brand Naked Sundays recently launched into Ulta, and to celebrate, they sent me some of their core products, so I thought I’d do a quick run through today!

naked sundays spf review

CabanaClear Invisible Water Gel Serum SPF50 $22 USD | $24.99 CAD | £25*

This is a lovely lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating SPF! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and sits well under makeup!

Hydrating Glow Mist Setting Spray SPF50+ $23 USD | $36.99 CAD | £18*

A welcome addition to my collection this summer as I am really trying to keep up with reapplication of SPF on my face and as a makeup wearer I find it hard to not disrupt my base! This is invisible and packed with Watermelon Extract and Kakadu Plum to hydrate and soothe. It’s so easy to throw in my bag and top up while out and about and I know this will be an essential for me this summer!

Poutscreen SPF50 Plumping Lip Treatment in Marshmallow $26 USD*

I usually stick to nice but boring SPF lip balms like blistex so this one is a real treat! It has a my lips but better subtle sheer pink glaze and is formulated with Polyglutamic Acid, Squalane and Tomato Extract for a boost of hydration, a subtle plumping effect and is packed with antioxidants. It’s lightweight, non-sticky, feels hydrating and long lasting and it protects my lips! Love it!

CabanaGlow SPF50 Mineral Glow Serum Drops in Illuminating $35 USD | £32*

This is a lightweight serum formula with skin-brightening illuminating pigments that feels hydrating and brightens and evens out my complexion. I have been mixing these into my foundation for a little extra glow and luminosity!

CabanaGlow SPF50 Mineral Glow Serum Drops in Bronze $35 USD | £32*

Same as above but in a sun kissed bronze shade! These are unfortunately a little too dark for me!

BeautyScreen SPF50 Peptide Foundation Tint - 3 Warm Honey $38 USD | £38*

Sadly this shade is also a little dark for me so I have only tested it at home but it gives a really nice, buildable coverage and blends well to even out skin tone! It contains peptides, squalane and polyglutamic acid to plump skin, support the skin barrier and hydrate. I gave it to a friend to try and she said this: “I actually love the formula/finish/the way it fades during day, it doesn’t settle, doesn’t cling to bits etc but can’t shake the feeling it’s too warm for me…wish Shoppers sold that product but they don’t”. Would love to try this in a lighter shade!

Unedited top to bottom - Serum drops in illuminating, bronze and foundation tint in 3 Warm Honey.
Naked Sundays has a lot of makeup infused SPF so while I appreciate the added sun protection - make sure you have a good layer of SPF underneath if it is a makeup product!

They are also available at Shoppers Drugmart in Canada and Sephora, Boots and Cult Beauty in the UK!

Have you tried any Naked Sundays products? I want to try their lip oil and stick sunscreen next!

Skincare Review | K Beauty Favourites #3

k beauty favourites

Time for part three of my K Beauty Favourites! I’ve been using all of these for quite a while now and have been loving them in my routine! It’s also been ten years since I started this blog (next week to be exact) which is crazy! Anyway, let’s get on to some reviews!

sioris drops of omija review

Sioris Drops of Omija Calming Ampoule*

This is a beautiful, lightweight, calming serum that leave my skin feeling soft and soothed. It contains cica, floral extracts as well as propanediol and trehalose for long-lasting moisture. I use this when my skin is feeling sensitised, or I want to simplify my routine as it’s so hydrating! It works well to reduce inflammation and soothe redness and I think helps repair my barrier aswell!

Sioris Drops of Omija Calming Mist*

The matching mist is even more beautiful! I went through this so quickly as I loved it so much! It’s an antioxidant and inflammatory mist that contains 34% Omija extract, Centella Asiatica extract, aloe vera leaf juice, Zinc PCA and beta-glucan and is so soothing and calming! My skin feels hydrated, redness is reduced and my skin barrier feels strong! Preferred this to the infamous Sioris Time is Running Out Mist! This also featured in my Best Beauty Discoveries of 2024 post here!

k beauty mists essence serum best

Mixsoon Bean Essence*

This is a viscous essence (think snail mucin) but it contains fermented soybean extract to hydrate and control sebum. It’s also got fermented pomegranate which is a natural AHA and fermented Korean pear, an antioxidant that brightens and repairs the skin. I love this for both morning and evening and it feels hydrating and smoothing!

k beauty favourites dr ceuracle

Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence*

A creamy essence with kombucha tea extract and green tea leaf water, it’s hydrating and balancing and feels very lightweight! Essence is the first thing I forget about in my routine but I definitely need to remember to use this more as it makes my skin feel so soft!

k beauty favourites dr ceuracle

Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Gel Cream*

Another product from the Kombucha Tea line and this is the perfect summer moisturiser! It’s a gel formula and feels cooling on the skin as well as lightweight. It’s not quite hydrating enough for me in the winter but is perfect for the summer months and for oily or combo skin! The Kombucha helps strengthen the moisture barrier and balance oil production while green tea extract has antioxidant properties.

By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream*

A really solid, gentle, retinal and bakuchiol combo in a handy pump bottle! This has a yellow colour to it due to the retinol, feels lightweight and sinks in quickly. My skin has never reacted to it so it would be perfect for beginners to retinal and it leaves my skin feeling smooth, plump and hydrated!

k beauty favourites spfs

Dr Ceuracle Cica Regen Vegan Sun SPF50+ PA++++*

Absolutely obsessed with this SPF, it also featured in my Best Beauty Discoveries of last year which I linked earlier! It is a chemical sunscreen formulated with centella asiatica extract and bamboo complex and helps calms inflammation and protects skin against external aggressors. It’s has a lightweight cream texture and it absorbs quickly into skin leaving no white cast and doesn’t pill! I love the antioxidant properties! Seems to be out of stock currently but hopefully it’s back soon!

Anua Heartleaf Silky Moisture Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++*

Another great chemical SPF! This one is also anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich, sinks in quickly, leaves no white cast and doesn’t pill! As well as heartleaf, it contains panthenol, so feels calming on my skin and it help controls oil so is perfect for my combo skin! There is no eye stinging with either of these SPF’s either! Neither are fully matte but both are perfect bases under my makeup!

Skincare | Vichy Mineral 89 Range Review Updated 2024

vichy mineral 89 range review

I was recently sent the new Vichy Mineral 89 100H Moisture Boosting Cream which is a new addition to the iconic Vichy Mineral 89 range so I thought I would do an update to my original post from 2022! Fun fact – the original is one of the most popular posts on my blog!

The Vichy Mineral 89 100H Moisture Boosting Cream Rich RRP £24* is formulated for dry skin and contains hyaluronic acid, squalane, vitamins E and B3 to help diminish the look of fine lines and texture. Despite being a rich cream, this has been great for my combo skin in the morning as well as the evening. It keeps my skin hydrated and looking plump and sits very well under my makeup! My skin drinks this up overnight as well and while I haven’t been testing out the 100 hour claims, I haven’t experienced any dryness and my skin has been feeling supple and smooth!

VICHY MINERAL 89 100H MOISTURE BOOSTING CREAM REVIEW

Running through the staples of the line and the Mineral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Booster RRP £28 | $45.95 CAD* has been a pretty constant product in my routine for a few years now and is one I recommend for anyone with sensitive, dry or dehydrated skin! It comes in both 50ml and 75ml sizes so I never feel like I need to use it sparingly and is a cooling, gel serum that hydrates my skin, minimises my fine lines and makes it look plump! It sinks in quickly, lasts all day long for me and sits well under makeup too! It’s formulated with Vichy Volcanic Water, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate and is just a good simple, hydrating serum that protects against environmental aggressors.

Next up, is the Mineral 89 Probiotic Serum RRP £35 | $51.95 CAD* and as well as Vichy Volcanic Water, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, this contains added Niacinamide and probiotic fractions. As well as hydrating, this serum focuses on repairing stressed out skin and guarding against stressors. It’s got more of a classic serum consistency compared to the gel formula of the OG serum and I wouldn’t say it’s as hydrating as the original but I do love the effects of the added ingredients. My skin feels and looks calmer as well as more even and long term it feels like it’s being protected, and it bounces back quicker if I do happen to damage my barrier!

vichy mineral 89 review

The Mineral 89 Eye Brightening Serum with Hyaluronic Acid & Caffeine RRP £21.50 | $39.95 CAD* contains you guessed it, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, as well as caffeine and shea butter. It has a lovely, lightweight formula and the pump dispenses the perfect amount of product! The main issues I have with my eyes are puffiness and fine lines and this targets those as well as darkness! It cools down my under eyes making them significantly less puffy and also hydrates, reducing my fine lines. I don’t notice a huge difference with darkness with this one though!

I had hoped to try the other new addition to the Mineral 89 range, the 72H Daily Fluid Sun Cream as well but I received the Capital Soleil UV-Age Daily SPF50+ Facial Sunscreen RRP £22.50 | $42.95 CAD* which I can’t complain about because it’s one of my favourite SPF’s! it’s formulated with 1% Vitamin E, 4% peptides complex, 2% niacinamide, and 10% Vichy volcanic mineralizing water and probiotic fractions and has a lightweight fluid texture. It has no white cast (I have pale skin for reference), absorbs easily and sits very well under makeup with no pilling! It doesn’t melt off when I sweat or sting my eyes! Can’t recommend this enough!

vichy mineral 89 skincare range review

All of the products absorb well and give me a great base for makeup and provide hydration all day and night! I cannot recommend the Mineral 89 line enough! Vichy products are available from Escentual, Look Fantastic and Boots and they are always included in the French Pharmacy offers usually with up to a third off!

Skincare Review | K Beauty Favourites #2

k beauty favourites 2

It’s been ages since my last K Beauty favourites post and I have another bunch of products I’ve been loving so here’s round two!

k beauty toners favourites

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner is a light, hydrating and refreshing toner that helps prepare the skin for optimal absorption of products. It contains fermented 100% Korean-produced black rice extracts which have anti-inflammatory and brightening effects as well as beta-glucan which provides hydration and it comes in a huge 300ml bottle which has been taking me ages to get through but I’m not bored of it yet! A simple but effective daily toner! Read more in my toner post here!

Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Toner* is another, you guessed it, lightweight, hydrating and refreshing toner! That is what K beauty is known for so no surprise those will be the words of the day in this blog post! This one contains yam root extract to replenish skin moisture to keep skin supple along with vegan milk complex (derived from oat, rice, coconut and other plant-based ingredients) and lipid water to strengthen the skin barrier. It feels really gentle, has a milky consistency and helps hydrate my skin!

Moving onto some essences/serums now and in all honestly, I don’t notice a huge difference in the effects of these three but they all work well and I enjoy using them! They are all unscented, absorb quickly, provide my skin with hydration and support it, and keep it soft and supple!

k beauty serum essence favourites

jumiso snail mucin 95 peptide essence review

The Jumiso Snail Mucin 95 + Peptide Facial Essence* is infused with 95% snail mucin and five kinds of peptides to boost skin elasticity and repair cell damage as well as panthenol and allantoin to sooth and hydrate. It’s got that classic sticky, “snail” texture and again, it’s suitable for sensitive skin. This comes in a huge 140ml bottle so I tend to use this on my chest and decolletage area too!

vegreen serum review

The Vegreen Nature Mucin Serum* is a non-snail mucin serum containing mucin from wild yam, panthenol, peptides and ceramides. It helps with skin elasticity and moisture as well as protecting and repairing damaged skin. The Vegreen Skin Barrier Reishi Serum* is formulated with 3 types of mushrooms - Reishi to strengthens the skin barrier; Chaga - an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging extract which protects the skin from sun damage; and Tremella Fuciformis Extract which helps enhance skin elasticity, and plump and smooth fine lines. It also contains probiotics which maintain the skin's microbiome to reduce skin sensitivity.

Both Vegreen serums have more watery textures and I will usually take one of them with me when I am packing light and going on a trip as they work so well in both my AM and PM routine (and are in smaller bottles than the Jumiso - the big bottle is all I have left!).

K beauty sunscreens are in a league of their own and I can’t recommend the next three products enough if you need a new SPF! They all feel lightweight and absorb quickly into the skin leaving no white cast (I have fair skin for reference!) and sit beautifully under makeup with no pilling! They protect my skin so well and I haven’t got burnt on my face while using them!

k beauty spfs favourites

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ PA++++ is a chemical sunscreen containing niacinamide, rice extract and grain-derived probiotics to help keep skin supple and hydrated.

My most recent SPF favourite find and the one I took to Mexico in March with me – the Tocobo Bio Watery Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++. Again, this is a chemical sunscreen containing mung bean extract to soothe irritation, along with bio-hyaluronic acid to boost skin moisture.

Aside from having a cool purple tint that helps to neutralise yellow undertones, the Isntree Purple Protector Onion Newpair Sunscreen SPF40 PA+++* is another chemical sunscreen that contains 5% red onion extract, allantoin and heartleaf extract to hydrate and soothe irritated skin. Read more in my best beauty discoveries of 2023!

I generally find K Beauty products very affordable and there are always offers on the likes of Stylevana, StyleKorean and YesStyle (use my code DANIELLESBB5 for up to 5% off)! Don’t forget, you can read my last K Beauty post here!

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these and what you thought or let me know what K Beauty products I need to try next!
