This week, I thought it was about time I shared an updated roundup of some of the serums currently in my skincare collection! Some are long-time staples that I have repurchased for years, while others are newer discoveries that have quickly earned a permanent spot in my routine. These are all products I would recommend if you are looking for brighter, firmer, clearer or healthier-looking skin.
Starting off with the U Beauty RESURFACING Compound* and this is a multitasking treatment that is a one stop shop for brightening, smoothing, and resurfacing skin. U Beauty’s ethos is to have fewer, better products to transform your skin and save you time. Every product is powered by multi-patent-pending SIREN Capsule Technology™, a precision delivery system that adapts to your skin concerns as they evolve through time. This serum takes the place of several products by combining antioxidants, stabilized vitamins C and E, a gentle retinol ester, and a mix of exfoliating acids to help even out texture, refine pores, and soften fine lines. I’ve found it leaves my skin looking smoother, brighter, more refined and clearer after use, and, especially when I use it at night, I wake up with glowing skin. It delivers overnight results and is a true multitasker, and I haven't experienced any sensitivity! I also love the scent of it! It is definitely an investment but worth it and I do have a discount code for anyone making their first order - DANIELLEBEAUTYBLOG20 for 20% off! Read my full U Beauty review here!
Onto a cult classic next and now I’ve used up a few bottles of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, I am definitely part of the cult! This restorative serum contains peptides, hyaluronic acid and bifida ferment lysate to help hydrate, protect and support the skin barrier. It’s called night repair but can be used AM or PM though I do tend to use it in the evening and I wake up with hydrated, plump and firm skin. It feels calming and I love that it contains antioxidants to protect my skin too! Read my full review here!
Another serum that is no stranger to my skincare collection or blog is the NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 3 1:1 (CAIS3). This one has been a staple in my skincare rotation since 2016! It’s a copper peptide serum in a blue watery liquid formula with a slight vinegar scent (don’t worry it dissipates very quickly!). This sinks in quickly and can be used in the morning and evening. It’s a pro-repair and pro-collagen serum that maintains healthy looking skin by targeting signs of skin ageing including textural damage, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores and a lack of radiance. My skin really does look and feel much healthier when I use this consistently. My skin looks clearer, more even and firmer - it’s a must have! I tend to keep my routine simple when using this serum as it does all the heavy lifting for me! After the first few bottles of this I went through, I noticed its effects more when I stopped using it and I always have it in my stash now! See my full NIOD review here though noting I just found out they are not doing their yearly Black Friday sale throughout the month of November now - it’s been moved to April!
The SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic* is my current Vitamin C serum and it contains 15% pure Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), 1% Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol to replenish skin lipids), and 0.5% Ferulic Acid to enhance protection against environmental damage caused by free radicals that can contribute to visible signs of atmospheric ageing. I find Vitamin C serums tricky and this is a beautiful formulation that absorbs quickly and works for all skin types including sensitive. It targets signs of ageing and photodamage, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and the loss of firmness, while brightening skin’s complexion. This is my second bottle and I've found it particularly effective at softening fine lines and helping post-breakout marks fade more quickly. My overall skin tone is much brighter and even with use and I love using it in the morning with my SPF as my skin feels more protected! Read my full SkinCeuticals review here!
The Anua Azelaic Acid 10 + Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum* has become my go to for when my skin is acting up with blemishes! It’s watery in texture and features 10% azelaic acid, along with hyaluronic acid while the green colour comes from Anua’s Gentle Calming Complex of natural ingredients including green tea leaf water, aloe and cica. It’s soothing and calming, reduces redness and hydrates skin. Whenever my skin is having a moment, this is the serum I reach for as my spots and residual marks seem to clear up so much quicker. Don’t forget you can get up to 5% more off at YesStyle with my discount code DANIELLESBB5! See my full review here!
Last but not least is the L'Occitane Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum*. This radiance-boosting serum is designed to revive dull, tired-looking skin with an infusion of immortelle essential oil, which is rich in antioxidants to help combat visible signs of ageing. Despite the name, the texture is surprisingly lightweight and soothing, making it a lovely option for sensitive skin. I tend to use this one in the evenings and it absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling comfortable, nourished and hydrated overnight. By morning, my skin always looks fresher and more rested. I absolutely love the scent of this, it is so comforting and nostalgic to me despite not having had it before and, aesthetically, the bottle filled with golden bubbles looks so good on my dressing table!
I'd happily recommend any of these serums depending on your skin concerns and budget. Whether my skin is looking a little dull, breaking out, feeling dehydrated or just needs a bit of extra support, there's a serum here that I know I can rely on. If you've tried any of these I'd love to know what you think, and if there's a serum you swear by that I need to add to my wishlist, let me know!
