Product Empties #59

product empties review

It’s that time again! Here are my empties from the last three months! A little less than usual I feel but hopefully that means I’m on track for a big one in December!

haircare empties

Haircare

Living Proof Perfect hair Day Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo x2

Starting as usual with my go to dry shampoo! It lets me go for a few extra days without washing my hair and there is no white cast or residue. My hair feels manageable and actually looks clean! It’s pricey, but I find I use less than drugstore dry shampoo and it has a fresh citrus scent. Already got multiple backups! Read my full review here!

Got2b Extra Volume Dry Shampoo

Works nowhere near as good as the Living Proof option but can’t fault the price! Works in a pinch and will repurchase!

Coco & Eve Sweet Repair Repairing & Restoring Hair Mask

Clinically proven to transform heat-damaged hair by deeply restoring with a power blend of biomimetic ceramides, hyaluronic acid and vegan keratin. My hair feels stronger and softer when using this and it has a floral/fruity scent. Not a repurchase as I have other hair masks I prefer! Read my full review here!

bodycare empties

Bodycare

Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada Vitamin-Infused Lotion

I absolutely loved this, I’m a big fan of the original Bum Bum cream but I really enjoyed this lighter texture! It smells like the original and sinks in quickly keeping my skin soft and smooth and smells amazing! Will repurchase! See my full review here!

L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil*

I’ve been through a few minis of this but was so happy to have a full size so I didn’t feel like I had to ration it! This has a beautiful texture that changes from an oil to a milky emulsion in the shower, it makes my body feel so hydrated and soft and has the classic almond scent which is really subtle and lovely! I have a backup and this is really well priced as it lasts a long time! Would repurchase!

L’Occitane Amande Sublime Soothing Milk Concentrate*

Another love, this was so thick and luxurious and smelt lovely. It left my skin feeling soft and supple and is definitely one of the more indulgent body creams I have tried! I felt like I did go through it quite quickly and it’s not in my budget to repurchase but I would happily use this up again and recommend it if you want a treat!

Josie Maran Topless Tangerine Body Butter*

Yet another great moisturiser - this is so creamy and hydrating and leaves my skin feeling soft and glowing! It moisturises my skin so well and smells incredible - Topless Tangerine is my favourite of the four scents they have! This travel size is so handy for trips too, I took it to Norway last year and it lasted me most of the trip as a little goes a long way! Would repurchase! Read my full review here!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Sickly sweet but I love it and it’s so nostalgic for me and I get one every year as it's limited edition at Christmas! Will repurchase or hint for someone to get it for me at Christmas again!

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Gel-Cream

Another great shower gel that smells amazing! This is an older bottle as it’s just called Play now! Not a repurchase as it's a little expensive for a shower gel but I enjoy it when I have a mini!

Sol de Janeiro Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream

First time trying this scent and I really liked it! Not my favourite out of the SDJ offerings though so while I enjoyed the same hydrating cream texture this wouldn't be a repurchase!

skincare empties

Skincare

Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Cleansing Oil*

This is a lightweight cleansing oil containing soybean oil, ginseng seed oil and micellar technology that easily dissolves makeup and dirt. It also replenishes skin moisture and I enjoyed the earthy ginseng aroma! It emulsifies on contact with water and I use a face cloth to remove it. It leaves my skin cleansed and soft, ready for my next steps! Would repurchase! Don’t forget you can get up to 5% more off at YesStyle with my discount code DANIELLESBB5 (affiliated). Read my full review here!

January Labs Restorative Tonic Mist

I am devastated this brand has been discontinued as I loved this mist so much and have gone through so many bottles over the years! It’s refreshing, hydrating and really helps with blemishes! Containing aloe extract, witch hazel, sodium PCA, flower oil extract, licorice and calendula extract, this mist is anti-inflammatory and works as an antioxidant too! There is a slight scent but it’s not offensive in the slightest and it’s been a staple in my skincare routine for four years now! Gutted the brand has been discontinued, would have repurchased!

Nivea Double Effect Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

My favourite eye makeup remover! Takes off my mascara with ease and doesn’t leave me with cloudy eyes! Always have several back-ups!

Scientia Green Supreme CBD Vegi-Tox Rescue Mask

Another brand that has been discontinued! I actually picked this up in Home Bargains when I was home for Christmas last year as it was on sale for about £1.99 and used it up on my chest before the shower where I am prone to some spots. Nice formula and I would have repurchased again at that price!

Naked Sundays Cabana Clear Water Gel Serum SPF50*

One of my favourite SPF’s, this is lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and sits well under makeup! Would repurchase! See my full review here!

Mixsoon Bean Essence*

This is a really nice essence (more like a serum consistency) that contains fermented soybean extract to hydrate and control sebum. It’s also got fermented pomegranate which is a natural AHA and fermented Korean pear, an antioxidant that brightens and repairs the skin. I love this for both morning and evening and it feels hydrating and smoothing! Would repurchase! Get 5% more off at YesStyle with my discount code DANIELLESBB5 (affiliated). See my full review here!

Celimax Noni Ampoule*

A lovely calming and hydrating serum - everyone should have this or something like it in their routine! It contains noni fruit extract which is full of antioxidants, glycerin to hydrate, allantoin to soothe and adenosine to help reduce the appearance of fine lines. My skin always looks and feels calm and hydrated when I use this - would repurchase! See my full review here! Get 5% more off at YesStyle with my discount code DANIELLESBB5 (affiliated). Read my full review here!

U Beauty The Return Eye Concentrate*

Loved this eye cream, it’s an all‑in‑one fix for tired, stressed and crepey undereyes, and the formula contains Diamond Powder, Marine Plankton Extract, Stabilized Superoxide Dismutase, Pure Beta Glucan, and Short‑Chain Hyaluronic Acid. My undereyes are brighter, smoother, more firm, and hydrated and I saw a positive difference in fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles. It feels lightweight but still super nourishing and sinks in quickly, I used it morning and night and there was no pilling with other skincare products or makeup. One of the best eye creams I have tried, and it lasted around 5 months with daily use. It’s pricey so definitely an investment and sadly I can’t afford to add it back into my routine at the minute but I would repurchase in the future! For anyone making their first order, use my code DANIELLEBEAUTYBLOG20 to get 20% off! Read my full review here!

Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

I was surprised by how dark the colour of this was! It is formulated with vitamin B5 and sodium PCA as well as hemp seed oil (rich in omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids) and matcha so is hydrating and soothing with antioxidant properties to help protect your skin barrier from any environmental aggressors. It has a good lather and I really enjoyed it, it kept my skin clean and hydrated and my barrier healthy! Would repurchase! See my full review here!

Clarins SOS Pure Rebalancing Clay Mask

This mask smelt so nostalgic to me for some reason even though I have never tried it! It was a nice 10 minute mask for oily skin and it helps mattify, minimize shine and reduce the appearance of pores. Enjoyed it but not a repurchase!

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist*

Enjoyed having this in my bag and at work for a hydrating mist throughout the day! It does contain fragrance so if you are more sensitive than me it might not be for you! Would repurchase!

Sisley Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream

A nice cream but this is so expensive and I don’t think it's overly special (probably as I only had a mini) so not a repurchase for me!

Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask

Similar to the above, I couldn't really tell the difference between these two and this is also nicely hydrating but expensive and nothing special (again, probably as I only had a mini) so not a repurchase for me!

Sisley Express Flower Gel

Not hydrating enough for me overnight so not a repurchase!

Farmacy Lip Smoothie Apple*

Loved this, I used it as my nightly lip balm and it kept my lips hydrated overnight as well as plump and smooth. Would repurchase!

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster

I think this might also be discontinued and to be honest it took me forever to finish this tiny sample as it felt like an extra step I didn't need in my routine! It’s very liquidy and you mix with moisturiser for an extra shot of hydration, a nice product but unnecessary most of the time for me so not a repurchase!

Naked Sundays PoutScreen Plumping Lip Treatment in Marshmallow*

Loved this lip treatment and used it non-stop throughout the summer as it contains SPF! While I think this shade is discontinued (Love Letter is now the closest match) the formula seems the same to me - hydrating and lots of shine! Would repurchase! See my full Naked Sundays review here!

Topicals Slick Salve Mint Lip Balm

Loved this, hydrating, glossy and smelled good! Longlasting and would repurchase!

Nudestix Hydrating Peptide Lip Butter

Another great option that is also hydrating, glossy and smells good! I would say the Topicals is ever so slightly more long lasting but I have a backup of this and would repurchase!

Dior Lip Glow Oil in 001 Pink

I really wasn’t impressed with this when I first got it as I thought it felt more like a lip gloss than oil however I really grew to love it when I focused on finishing it! Yes, it does still feel more like a gloss than a true lip oil to me but it hydrated my lips and didn’t look crazy pink on my lips! Not a repurchase right now!

masks review

Masks and Sachets

Pixi Aftersun Soothing Infusion Sheet Mask*

Lovely cooling mask containing aloe, cucumber and chamomile. I used this after catching too much sun one day and it felt so soothing! I like using sheet masks up but don’t tend to repurchase myself!

Sensory Retreats Divine Glow Self-Heating Face Mask

Fun to try a self-heating mask and it was relaxing but not a repurchase!

Pathology Flashmasque Illuminate 5 minute Sheet Mask

Another nice mask but again not a repurchase!

Pixi DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches*

Enjoyed these as well, cooling and depuffing! I took them on a weekend trip and loved using them one morning when I had time to relax. I have the pot of them too and I would repurchase!

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel

Love these! So smoothing yet hydrating and they really help even my skin tone and make it look more radiant! Again, a little pricey so not a repurchase for me when I have other products that do a similar job but I love when I get these as samples!

makeup empties

Makeup

Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder

Enjoyed using this up under my eyes, doesnt look cakey but it didn’t mattify my face well enough when I used it as an all over powder so not a repurchase for me!

Illamasqua Hydra Veil

This mini was so old the product has now been discontinued I believe! It was a weird texture (like jelly) but it worked very well as a primer so would have repurchased!

misc empties

Miscellaneous

Nature’s Bounty Extra Strength Hair, Skin and Nails

I love these, I take two when I get home from work and they feel like a little treat! Not sure they are doing anything specifically as I also try to have a good hair routine etc but my nails definitely feel strong and grow quickly! Have repurchased!

So that concludes another empties post, can you tell I’ve been working on my lip products and minis? Really trying to get through older products I save for trips etc as well because inevitably they don’t make it on trips and get discontinued (or expire). Have you tried anything I mentioned? What are your thoughts?

Product Empties #58

product empties

It’s empties time again! This is everything I have from the last three months and to be honest it’s not as much as I was hoping but here we are!

haircare empties

Haircare

Living Proof Perfect hair Day Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo

Starting as usual with my go to dry shampoo! It let’s me go for a few extra days without washing my hair and there is no white cast or residue. My hair feels manageable and actually looks clean! It’s pricey, but I find I use less than drugstore dry shampoo and it has a fresh citrus scent. Already got multiple backups! Read my full review here!

Dove Bond Strength 10 in 1 Serum Mask

Loved this hair mask and it’s always on offer so you can pick it up relatively cheap! Nourished my hair, left it shiny and reduced the look of breakage and dry ends. The mask itself feels lightweight and only needs to be left in for a minute so good if you are in a rush! Will reperuchase or try the intensive repair mask next!

Living Proof Perfect hair Day Triple Detox Shampoo

I believe this has been discontinued and updated to be the Clarifying Detox Shampoo now. It was a gentle formula that had charcoal to help absorb excess oil. It has the same citrus scent most if not all Living Proof products have which is not my favourite hair scent but not offensive either! I liked this but it’s not a repurchase!

Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector

I went through so many full sizes of this back in the day! It’s a pre shampoo treatment that I like to leave in my hair for 2-3 hours before washing out to see the best results. It works well on my damaged ends and makes them a lot softer, hydrated and also makes my split ends look sealed and healthy! This is the old formula but they recently brough out a new version you don’t need to leave in your hair as long! Typically, these days I prefer a leave in treatment so this isn’t a repurchase! Read my full review here!

bodycare empties

Bodycare

Nivea Smooth Body Lotion

Love this! It’s a lightweight formula with a fresh, clean scent, the bottle is huge and you can always get it for an affordable price! A staple in my body care routine, have the Q10 one in my backup drawer!

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion

Another great body lotion, this one has a bit of a weird scent even though its unscented but it dissipates quickly! It contains lactic acid so gently resurfaces the skin as well as hydrating it and I see and feel an improvement in my skin texture (particularly on my arms!) after use! Would repurchase! See my full review here!

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel

Love this, it smells incredible and makes my skin feel so nourished and the bottle lasts forever! Have a back up already!

Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner

This I did not love, the smell isn’t quite the same and the formula is not my favourite either, I found it hard to rub in and while it did leave my skin soft I will stick to other standard moisturisers I prefer!

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

An old favourite – smells incredible and a pot goes a long way as it’s so nourishing! Will repurchase! See my review here!

Moroccan Oil Hand Cream

Not a fan of this, the scent is not my favourite and the hand cream dried my hands out. Not a repurchase!

Clarins Super Restorative Balm for Abdomen and Waist

This was a really nice treatment and I used over my whole body not just abdomen but it was so hydrating and smoothing! Not a repurchase for me right now!

skincare empties

Skincare

Celimax Noni Acne Cleanser*

This was such a refreshing foaming cleanser that I loved as a morning or second cleanse! It was my go to when I felt a spot coming on and contains glycerin, Noni extract (rich in antioxidants), salicylic acid, willow bark extract and centella asiatica so gently removes dead skin cells and soothes skin and it has a fresh, herbal mint scent. Despite being a foaming cleanser, it didn’t strip my skin and it felt soft and balanced after use! If you are shopping on YesStyle, my code DANIELLESBB5 gets up to 5% more off your order! Read my full review here!

REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic*

So sad that REN has closed down as they had some real gems like the PHA exfoliating facial! This toner was not my favourite as I found it a little too astringent for my skin with the natural citrus essential oils. I ended up using this on my arms to help with KP where it worked well to smooth and my arms didn’t feel as sensitive as when I use it on my face! Won’t be a repurchase!

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm*

Love this formula and the scent – lime, bergamot and orange – it’s so fresh! The balm has a stiffer formula than something like the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleanser but melts easily one you start massaging into the skin and transforms into a milky lather when you add water. It’s rich in antioxidants and contains sunflower oil and papaya extract to nourish skin and target impurities leaving my skin soft and hydrated. It removes my makeup without leaving any residue behind and I can’t fault it! Would repurchase! Read my full review here!

Skinceuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced*

Loved this! Perfect for both morning and night, this is a potent corrective cream treatment that helps reverse visible signs of aging impacted by collagen decline. It’s formulated with 18% concentrated Proxylane and 4.25% Wild Fruit Flavonoid blend and it’s advanced technology is clinically shown to reduce the look of five types of wrinkles (forehead wrinkles, glabellar line, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines), restore the skin's firmness & elasticity, and enhance skin's radiance. My skin drank this up, it’s rich but perfect under makeup and overnight. Every product I’ve tried from Skinceuticals is more than twice the price of my budget for the product but 100% worth it! Would repurchase if I saw a very good offer!

Pixi NutrifEYE Nourishing Eye Patches*

These were great and felt like such treat on weekend mornings to soothe and refresh my eyes! They are infused with rose, aloe vera and chamomile and feel juicy and hydrating and help to depuff my eyes and they stay in place! Already have a backup!

NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 3 1:1

One of my most repurchased skincare serums and one I’ve been going back to for yen years now! It’s a copper peptide serum, that is pro-repair and pro-collagen serum and helps maintains healthy looking skin by targeting signs of skin ageing including textural damage, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores and a lack of radiance. My skin looks and feels much more even, clearer and firmer when I use this consistently. It sinks in quickly and can be used in the morning and evening, but it is recommended to not use with acids, Vitamin C, EUK, or strong antioxidants. I tend to keep my routine simple when using this serum as it does all the heavy lifting for me! Will repurchase! Read my full review here!

Vegreen Fragrance Free Nature Mucin Serum*

This is a really nice hydrating and repairing serum! It contains mucin from wild yam, panthenol, peptides and ceramides and also helps with skin elasticity and moisture. Would repurchase!

Vegreen Skin Barrier Reishi Serum*

This one is also really hydrating and contains 3 types of mushrooms - Reishi to strengthen the skin barrier; Chaga - an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging extract which protects the skin from sun damage; and Tremella Fuciformis Extract which helps enhance skin elasticity, and plump and smooth fine lines. It also contains probiotics which maintain the skin's microbiome to reduce skin sensitivity. Both Vegreen serums have more watery textures and they are both great simple serums staples to have in your routine! Would repurchase! See my full review here!

Sunday Riley B3 Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum

I opened this a long time after I bought it and the colour seemed darker than in photos so I ended up using it on my chest rather than my face! It is formulated with 10% Niacinamide to improve the look of post-acne dark spots, oiliness, and surface redness and Trans-Resveratrol to brighten the appearance of dark spots. I think it worked ok but not a repurchase as I didn’t try it out properly on my face!

ZIIP Crystal Gel*

I use this with my ZIIP Microcurrent Facial device and it works great with it! The gel is formulated with glutathione, cedar bark extract, and veronica flower extract to brighten, repair and calm. It feel luxurious and enhances conductivity with the device but it is so expensive so I’m not sure I will repurchase, I have a couple other gels from the brand to try but then I will be trying a cheaper alternative to see if it works as well! See my initial thoughts on the ZIIP Microcurrent device here and get 10% off with my code DANIELLEBEAUTY here!

Biossance Squalane + Amino Acid Gentle Cleanser

A great gel cleanser! It foams nicely and doesn’t feel stripping - amino acid helps eliminate the dirt that can clog pores and Aloe Vera hydrates, calms and soothes. It also contains moringa so there is a lovely citrus scent and my skin always feels clean, ready for my next steps! Would repurchase! Read more here!

Goldfaden MD Eye Defy Radiance Restoring Eye Treatment*

Really enjoyed this eye cream! It felt lightweight and moisturized well while improving the look of my under-eye area leaving it looking firmer and more plump. Would repurchase!

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance

Great moisturiser! Would repurchase!

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Instant Glow Moisturiser

Another lovely moisturiser but I wouldn’t repurchase as I have others I prefer!

sheet mask review

Masks

Pixi Volume Volumizing Infusion Sheet Mask*

Super saturated and hydrated and plumped my skin! I happily use up sheet masks but not a repurchase!

Anua Heartleaf 70 + Hyaluron Soothing Collagen Mask x 2*

Another saturated mask that hydrated and calmed my skin! Wouldn’t repurchase but I enjoyed!

Makeup

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation shade 150

Love this foundation – it comes in 50 shades and is described as a soft matte longwear foundation that’s a buildable, medium to full coverage that fights heat, sweat and shine. Despite offering good coverage, it doesn’t feel thick feels and does a great job of covering blemishes. It lasts a good all day with minimal powdering throughout the day on my combo skin and it leaves my skin looking perfected and doesn’t settle into fine lines. Already have a back up! See my full review here!

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint in shade 2

This is a great lighter base that comes in 25 shades. Despite being lighter, it offers very good coverage! It’s perfecting and really does blur the skin and even out my complexion and with the rest of my makeup on top I am super happy with the coverage! I loved these for work from home days or a lighter base when running errands on the weekend! They last all day on my skin and don’t settle into fine lines and the shade 2 is perfect for my fair skin and maybe just a touch lighter than the 150 shade I am in the Soft Matte foundation! Would repurchase!

Cinta London Aqua Forte Super-Hold Setting Spray*

Worked well to keep my makeup in place but I have others I prefer so not a repurchase!

Merit Clean Lash Lengthening Tubing Mascara

Love love love this mascara! Tubing is the way to go for my watery eyes! This doesn’t budge and the bristles make it easy to coat my lashes and it works well to lengthen and give volume. There are no clumps or flakes and no smudging as the day goes on! Already have a back up! Read my full review here!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara

Another great tubing mascara! Separates my lashes well and the only time I experienced smudging was when I walked to work in a bad snow storm and my face got really wet so I’ll forgive it that one time! Already have a backup!

Haus Labs PhD Hybrid Lip Glaze in Guava

I made it my mission to finish this one up recently as it was getting old! It’s a really nice non-sticky gloss that lasts a decent amount of time on my lips! I love the shade but there is no scent so not a repurchase for me!

Caliray So Blown Clean Blurring Primer with Collagen Peptides

Loved this mini! It really helped with shine control on my combo skin, plumped my skin and blurred my pores. Already repurchased the full size!

Well done if you made it to the end of this post! Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products I’ve mentioned and what you thought of them!
