Disappointing Products #2 ft. Soap and Glory, Note Cosmetics and Glow Recipe

Morning guys, it’s been a while since I did one of these posts! Generally, I do my research before buying products so I am not disappointed by a lot but when I am it stings! Here are my most recent disappointing products and you can see my first post in this series here!

coty airspun powder note mattifying extreme foundation glow recipe mist you madly review

The Primark Glow Setting Spray was actually a gift from my aunt for Christmas and after spraying on my hand I was pleasantly surprised by how subtle it was so, after doing my makeup, I sprayed on my face. Oh what a mistake that was. Now, this is nothing to do with the formula itself but this is in a spray bottle with one of those little balls and after shaking vigorously and spraying on my face I checked my refection and was horrified to see lots of little white spots of liquid all over my face – if you know you know. The worst thing was that I was running late for work and not about to redo my makeup so I had to just powder over it and hope for the best but I could see it all day, thank god I work in an office where no one is looking too closely at me! I think in this case I have a faulty nozzle but the experience has put me off it completely and I won’t be using again!

soap and glory mist you madly review

The Soap and Glory Mist You Madly body spray is one of my favourite scents in the world and has been a staple in my fragrance stash for well over 10 years so I was slightly worried when I could not find it online anymore. I did however see it had been repackaged on a trip to Boots so I picked up a bottle as I was running out. On first sniff this is very similar to the original version however whilst wearing it I find it is not as musky, it dries down to a different scent and it lasts nowhere near as long on my skin as the old version. From a quick look at the ingredients I can see that some are in a different order and some aren’t the same so the formula has definitely changed unfortunately. I am absolutely gutted about this one – I used to get my mum to ship this over to Canada to me as I loved it so much and they didn’t have this scent! I also loved how they did a mini and a big bottle of it as the mini was 100ml so fit in my liquid bag! Soap and Glory are in my bad books now as this is the second scent they have messed with – they discontinued their Original Pink perfume too L

Next up are two heavily hyped makeup products and I didn’t get along with either of them! I picked up the Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Walmart this summer after hearing how much people loved it but I just can’t get on with it. Aside from the old lady/powdery scent that I would be willing to get on board with if this worked for me, it is cakey, drying but not mattifying and clings to any dry patches accentuating them. I saw this in my friends makeup bag too last time I was visiting and asked her what she thought and she said it was alright but not deserving of the hype it gets!

Sticking with makeup, the Note Beauty Mattifying Extreme Wear Foundation was recommended by a couple of friends when I said I needed an affordable full coverage foundation. Unfortunately this was another one I didn’t get on with. After struggling to pick a shade as they all leant quite pink or orange this one didn’t last the test of time throughout the day. I found at first the coverage was good and it only needs a thin layer, however throughout the day this wears off so unevenly it looked awful! My skin is combo but on the oily side of things and I tried this with so many different primers and powders to try to help make it work but honestly I was so relieved when I used the last pump! It separated on my t-zone throughout the day and if I touched my face it would transfer – not good!

Finally I want to include the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. I have gone through quite a few minis of this product now as it always seems to be included in my beloved Cult Beauty GWP’s and honestly it makes me feel so meh! Based on the ingredients I would expect a lot more – it contains hyaluronic acid and AHA’s, some of my favourites! I hate the texture - it’s like a greasy gel that leaves a film – and usually with these ingredients I see a noticeable difference in my skin the next morning whether it be plump, glowy, smooth etc but with this I see nothing discernible! I’ve passed the last 2 I received along and hopefully the recipients will like it more than I do!

I hope everyone is doing well at home in these crazy times! Do you like these types of posts or have you tried any of these products? Let me know your thoughts!

Forever Repurchased #5

forever repurchased

Since coming home from Canada, I have been adding some of my favourites back into my routine as I was working on finishing up a lot of products before I left! It is so good to have some firm favourites back in my routine so here are my forever repurchased take 5!

I have lost count of how many of these I have gone through now after first buying two years ago when I was in Canada. I first dabbled with the pressed version quite a while back but this loose version is 10x better! It mattifies my skin without drying it out, adds subtle extra coverage and a pot lasts ages! Well worth its price tag but I managed to snag this one at 20% off on Feel Unique so always worth shopping around!

NIOD copper amino isolate 2:1 review

Another slightly new formulation to me, I loved the original version of this and the update is just as good! This serum is such an all-rounder, my skin is always clearer and more even when I use it consistently! It’s also good for aging skin and is just generally very good for the overall health of your skin!

This is the product that has been out of my routine the longest and one that I am so happy to have back in it! I have dabbled with other rosehip oils but always come back to Trilogy specifically, there is literally one ingredient in rosehip oil so I’m not sure why, but I can feel a difference and this one is my favourite! My skin always feels so nourished and hydrated after every use and it’s a lot brighter and smoother in the mornings!

One of my favourite overnight treatments, this mask is super hydrating and I always wake up to plump, moisturised skin! I use this several times a week so will definitely buy the full size next time as it’s just so good and I run out of my minis quickly. They recently updated the ingredients to include avocado and swiss glacier water and I was worried the new formulation would be different but I’m happy to say it’s still working just as well for me!

Another firm favourite in my routine although one that’s getting harder to find! This is very moisturising and brightens my under eye giving a great base for makeup! I used to get it from Cult Beauty but they have stopped stocking them so I hope they are not leaving the UK!

I actually have a few other products I recently repurchased but didn’t want this post to be a massive essay, maybe I will do another one soon! If you’d like to see the previous posts in this series, please see below! What is one product you can’t do without?

See #1, #2, #3 and #4 in this series!

Five Things I’m Loving | January 2017

daniellesbeautyblog 5 things im loving nyx vincent longo seventeen laura mercier soap and glory review

I’ve mentioned on Instagram a couple of times recently but I’m currently attempting a ‘try not to buy’ rather than a full spending ban (I’d be sure to cave if that was the case!). With that in mind, I think posts like this will be cropping up a lot more as I get around to actually using the products I already have rather than buying new things I don’t need! It’s pretty makeup heavy this time round but here’s what I’m loving at the minute!

nyx nude suede shoes lip liner review

Ridiculously long name aside, this is an amazing lip liner! I first saw it featured on Havanna’s YouTube channel and I ordered it soon after because it looked a lot like Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk lipliner to me! While it’s not quite the same, I love this in its own right! Like the full title says, it's creamy, applies easily and sticks around for a decent amount of time! Nude Suede Shoes is a beautiful pinky nude that goes with so many of my lipsticks and I love it with CT Bitch Perfect. The formula is gorgeous and I definitely want to get my hands on a few more of these!

Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil Brownie Points review

Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in the shade Brownie Points £10
Although the Archery 2 in 1 brush and pencil seems to get most of the attention where S&G brow products are concerned, there is something special about this one that keeps me coming back! It has a fine felt tip end and a screw up pencil on the other. I like to go in first with the felt tip end to build up more colour with some fine strokes then go over my brows with the pencil to add more shape. I always store this in a tub with the tint at the bottom to keep it moist so the colour doesn’t run out as quick! The pencil side is slightly thicker than the Archery 2 in 1 and feels a little waxier so helps to set hairs in place too. Overall, the lasting result is a natural, full brow and it’s made me want to explore brow markers a bit more as I love the result! See my review of some of Soap and Glory’s brow range here!

Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil Brownie Points review swatch

This is the second tube of this I have gone through and it’s such a lovely primer! I got both in beauty boxes ages ago but I’ve only recently opened this up and fallen back in love with it! It has a lightweight gel/cream texture, sinks in quickly, feels hydrating but doesn’t make my oily skin oilier and its smoothing without having a silicone ‘slip’. I did notice with my first tube that the quality of this went downhill the longer I had it open and it does have a 6-month expiry date so I’ll be trying to stick to that because it does such a good job of extending the wear of my foundation and making it look fresher for longer!

vincent longo creme to powder blush swan lake review

Vincent Longo Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Blush in Swan Lake* RRP £33.50
I have been appreciating this so much more now its Winter and my skin is more dehydrated than usual! This has the most beautiful, unique crème to powder formula and feels amazing on the skin – it’s so cooling and refreshing! I like to use a Zoeva Cream Cheek brush to apply which makes it easy to build up the pigment. Swan Lake is a lovely natural pink shade with a slight silver shimmer and it lasts all day on my combo skin giving a healthy flush of colour! Its oil free, fragrance free, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic and cruelty free and though its more expensive than my usual blushes (not counting my Hourglass palette!) it’s well worth the money as it’s so long-lasting and I barely have to touch the product to get payoff! I love this on my oily/combo skin so I can imagine those with drier skins would fall in love with it too!

Seventeen Miracle Matte Oil Free Loose Powder £5.49
A few months ago, I went on a powder buying session because my skin was getting too used to my beloved No7 Perfect Light pressed powder and I ended up buying this from their baby sister brand. Now I’m not the biggest fan of loose powder as it’s so much messier but I’m a convert for this stuff! It’s a very lightweight powder that doesn’t add any extra colour to my face, it just makes my makeup look better! I still get a bit of shine round my nose at about lunch time which is common for me but with this I can just add some more powder and it doesn’t look like my foundation is separating or rubbing off! It’s such a great price too and I have a feeling it will last me ages!

So, there’s my round up of my current favourites! Have you tried any of them? Tell me what you’re loving at the minute!

Wishlist Purchases #2

wishlist purchases too faced love flush blushes chocolate bon bons palette mac studio fix powder charlotte tilbury pillowtalk lip cheat mac plumful lipstick

After last week’s third wishlist post I thought I would do a little update on the things I’ve bought from the first two I did! You can find those posts here and here!

mac plumful lustre lipstick

I finally bought a MAC lipstick just before Christmas in the shade Plumful and I really like it. This is a lustre formulation and I apply it straight from the bullet then rub it into my lips so it stains them more. I don’t find that I need to use a lip liner with this as bleeding is not an issue and it’s nicely hydrating and long lasting! I don’t think I’ll ever have as big a collection of MAC as some people because I feel like I’m always expecting more from them then left a little disappointed when it doesn’t live up the hype I’ve created for myself! I would like to try more lipsticks though and though I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks as my lips are so dry I have been eyeing up Mehr, thoughts?

For me this was a huge waste of money! I honestly don’t know how to use it, I bought it as more of a setting powder to add a little more coverage and got the shade NW20 which is what I got matched to in the Studio Fix Fluid years ago. This just makes my makeup look patchy, cakey and does not stop shine at all. I honestly think I’ve only tried it about twice so this is a hugely biased review but if anyone has any tips on how to get the best out of this powder please let me know!

too faced chocolate bon bons palette

My mum very kindly bought me this a few months back and it is quite possibly the cutest, girliest piece of makeup I own! I feel like I do abandon a lot of my eyeshadow palettes for my Makeup Geek collection especially when it comes to the shimmer shades so I haven’t got as much use out of this as I should have! I love using the mattes in the palette for a really subtle daytime look and Bordeaux is one of my favourite shades, I’m loving burgundy shades in my crease at the minute! Too Faced has one of my favourite eyeshadow formulations but I would say that I maybe prefer the shade range in my Natural Eyes palette as I do use every shade in that palette whereas some shades in this one obviously get no love from me (pinks I’m looking at you!)

l-r: Love Hangover, Your Love is King, Justify my Love
I got three of these in a mini set at Christmas and I am obsessed with them! Love Hangover and Justify my Love are definitely my favourites and although the minis I have are absolutely tiny they fit my blush brush perfectly and I can’t see myself hitting pan anytime soon! They are just the right amount of pigmentation and I find them really long-lasting on my combination skin! I still really want the Love Flush palette but I think it’s gone forever L

l-r: Love Hangover, Your Love is King, Justify my Love
I got this a few weeks ago along with the CT Instant Look in a Palette (let me know if you want a post about that too!) and I have to say I am really liking it! £16 is way more than what I would usually pay for a lipliner but it’s such a gorgeous natural colour just a touch darker than my lip shade that matches about 70% of my lipsticks and helps them last longer! It’s soft, I don’t have to pull on my lips to get the colour moving and although it was expensive I know I will get so much use out of it! I was under the impression it was a dupe for Rimmel’s Eastend Snob but as you can see in the swatch Eastend Snob on the left is a lot pinker than Pillow Talk!

makeup geek latte eyeshadow pan

Makeup Geek eyeshadow pan in Latte
I checked BeautyBay daily for months for this as I was forever out of stock only to finally get my hands on it and be a little disappointed! If you read my blog you will know I am a fan of cool toned brown eyeshadows. Although I knew this was warmer than my usual shades it’s just a little too much on the warm side for me to love! However, like all Makeup Geek eyeshadows its super pigmented and easily blendable and if you like warm tones you are in for a treat! It’s been a bit abandoned by me and I’ve changed around my small Z palette a little since this post on my neutral palette of dreams (see swatches here too!) but I think I will get more use out of it this summer when I am a bit more tan and it doesn’t look so stark on my pale skin!

My Most Used Makeup

most used makeup hourglass blush urban decay naked basics 2 revlon colorstay lovers coral no7 perfect light powder soap and glory concealer

Happy Easter everyone, hope you are all having a lovely time if you're off! I'm putting this up a little earlier than I usually would because of the Bank Holiday! I think it’s fair to say most of us here probably have a little too much makeup (am I right or am I right?) and while I definitely do, I still have products that I use way more than others so I thought I would share these today. The first three products aren’t going to be a surprise to anyone who has stumbled across my blog before as I feel like I mention them every other post! Sorry!

My favourite drugstore foundation, it has medium to full matte coverage and has a great selection of colours for paler skinned girls. My favourite ways to apply this are with my fingers or a damp beauty blender and it blends in seamlessly giving me great coverage all day long. Revlon have recently brought it out with a pump so I’m excited to give that a try though I stocked up on the old bottles as they were half price for a while there so it could be a while before I get my hands on one! More about it here

Again I never stop banging on about this either (sorry!). It is the best powder I’ve ever tried and while I usually have two or three powders on the go (to stop my skin getting used to them) this one wins every time when I know I need something that it going to mattify my skin, look undetectable and help my foundation stay put all day! It’s so lightweight and long lasting, the compact is nice and weighty with a big mirror and No7 always do £3 off vouchers so it’s regularly on offer! Try it, you won’t regret it!

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light
Another product I won’t spend too long talking about because you can read my full thoughts here but this is the best concealer ever! Creamy, full coverage and so handy to travel with as it has a mini powder compact and mirror, I couldn’t be without this! The left hand side is perfect for covering dark circles and the right hand side is great for concealing blemishes!

I think this was the first proper lipstick I ever bought on the recommendation of Alix from I Covet Thee a few years ago! It’s a sheer coral number that is light and glossy on the lips and just gives the most perfect colour to brighten up your face! As you can tell by the size of the bullet left this is very well loved by me! Although I’ve more recently got a few fancier lipsticks from Urban Decay and MAC there is just something about this one that I always come back to. I also have a backup even though it will probably take me another year to finish what’s left of this one!

Hourglass ambient lighting blush palette urban decay naked basics 2

Hands down my favourite eyeshadow palette and it contains the only eyeshadow I have ever hit pan on which considering the amount of palettes I have, I never thought would happen! Quite obviously Frisk is my most used shade and I usually take it all over the lid then put some Primal in the outer corner and Undone along my lash line with Skimp on my brow bone! I get so much more wear out of matte shades as I find them easier to work with and quicker to apply especially in the mornings! I do really like the original Naked Basics palette too but just slightly prefer the cooler tones of this one!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette
I remember the hype when this came out last year/two years ago (I can’t even remember anymore) and I thought it looked amazing  but no way was I paying £56 for a few blushers. Fast-forward to more hype over the next limited edition offering of the ambient lighting edit and I decided I didn’t want the tiny pans, highlighter, powder and bronzer but I needed the blush palette. Thankfully John Lewis seemed to have a few in stock and I spent the most money I ever have on a beauty product and bought the blush palette (though it was PayPal money so that doesn’t really count does it?). I was expecting a metal palette for some reason and was a little disappointed in the size of the pans but the quality of these blushes is beautiful. They are so soft, last all day and give the most gorgeous glow to the skin. I originally thought Incandescent Electra would be my go to but it’s actually my least favourite as I find it a bit too glittery for my liking. Mood Exposure is lovely but Luminous Flush definitely comes out on top for me, it’s so subtle but just makes me look so healthy and I think it’s impossible to go over the top with these as they are so perfectly pigmented!

Let me know if any of these are your favourites too!

Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation and Setting Powder Review*

Vichy Dermablend 05 Porcelain 15 Opal foundation setting powder review

I was recently very generously sent two shades of the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation* (RRP £18) as well as the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder* (RRP £16) to try so thought after a few weeks of testing them out I was ready to share my opinion!

I used to swear by the Vichy Dermablend concealer years ago when it was in the white packaging and I had really bad acne but along with the change in packaging came a change in colour and the shade I used to use no longer suited me. So, you can imagine how excited I was to see how the new Porcelain shade in the Corrective Fluid Foundation fared on my non tanned skin as well as Opal for when I have tan on! Vichy have also added two darker shades to the line-up and I’m loving the sleek black packaging and how easy it is to control how much foundation you are distributing.

Vichy Dermablend 05 Porcelain 15 Opal foundation swatches
l-r: Vichy Dermablend 05 Porcelain and 15 Opal Corrective Fluid foundation swatches

Full coverage foundation it my thing and the high concentration of pigments within the Fluid Corrective Foundation certainly provide just that. Crucially though, the foundation is not mask like at all and I’ve found that if I use my Beauty Blender I get a lovely natural but flawless result that covers redness around my nose and some acne scarring I still have. The Dermablend foundation is a lot thicker than my other foundations so I wasn’t sure how well it would work using my fingers to apply but again it gave a lovely finish. However, when I used my Zoeva Silk Finish I ended up having to cleanse it off straight away as I couldn’t get it worked into my skin at all and it looked so thick and cakey! I hardly ever use my Silk Finish brush to apply foundation anyway so this didn’t bother me as I loved the finish with the other methods I used to apply it!

Vichy Dermablend loose setting powder transparent

I’m having a bit of a love/hate relationship with the setting powder at the minute as loose powder is not my favourite thing in the world. I find it a little messy at the best of times and this is no different. After finding I wasn’t getting enough powder on the puff that was included I decided to screw the lid back on and give it a tiny little shake to get a bit more powder out to use with a brush. Big mistake. I've been dusting a little onto the brush then getting rid of the excess inside the lid before applying over the foundation.

Vichy Dermablend setting powder

What I do like about the powder however is that it’s lightweight, transparent and undetectable once it’s on the skin. I find the pairing doesn’t completely live up to its 16 hour claim and keep shine at bay so by lunchtime I’m having to top up but I do have an oil slick for face so this is something I have to do quite often anyway and the powder is so light it doesn’t move the foundation about when I reapply. This could work well for those with drier skin though!

Overall this is a lovely high coverage foundation that doesn’t cling to dry patches, look cakey or transfer. If you have any skin concerns it could be a real contender for you as the coverage is amazing but it still looks natural and spreads evenly over the skin. It’s also hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, tested on sensitive skin and paraben free! It does have SPF 35 which is another plus but also means it may come up a bit pale on camera so wouldn’t be my first choice for any photo opportunities but the shade Porcelain is perfect for when I have no tan on and Opal is great for when I do have some on!

Vichy Dermablend 05 Porcelain 15 Opal foundation swatches NARS Revlon Estee Lauder

The price point is mid-range, so a little dearer than standard drugstore foundations but a lot cheaper than the likes of NARS and Estee Lauder who also offer high coverage options and I've included some swatches against some of my other most used foundations so you can get a better idea of the Vichy Dermablend shades against them! The Vichy Dermablend range can be found at Boots, Escentual, Feel Unique and Look Fantastic as well as other leading and independent pharmacies!

Have you tried anything from the Vichy Dermablend range before? What did you think?

SEVENTEEN Christmas Gift with Purchase 2015

Hi everyone, I wanted to get a post up today with a gift with purchase that’s currently available in Boots! If you spend £6 on selected SEVENTEEN products you get a free pouch with three makeup brushes! Here’s what I bought!

SEVENTEEN gift with purchase Christmas 2015

SEVENTEEN gift with purchase blush powder makeup brushes review

SEVENTEEN Stay Time Pressed Powder
I go through powder quite quickly and my Holy Grail powder is No7 Perfect Light pressed powder, being that SEVENTEEN is meant to be the baby sister brand of No7 I thought I would try one of their powders. I went with Stay Time as I like mattifying powders that help make my makeup last and so far I’ve been really impressed with the stay time (geddit) of this powder! I have it in the shade Fair and although I do prefer my setting powders to be translucent, this doesn’t add any noticeable colour to my face and I’m really impressed with its lasting power!

SEVENTEEN Blush Powder
The packaging of the blusher is not my favourite thing in the world as it’s a screw cap and I just find it more fiddly than anything but the range of colours is great and I had a hard time picking just one! I eventually settled on China Pink which is a lovely bright matte pink colour that has a great amount of pigmentation and lasts all day on my cheeks! The best thing about these blushes – they’re only £2.99!

SEVENTEEN gift with purchase makeup brushes review

The GWP includes a black glitter pouch with three makeup brushes, one for cheeks, eyes and lips. They are all a lot softer than I was expecting and the cheek brush works well to apply the blush evenly, the eye brush is great for applying a darker shadow colour in the outer corner and the lip brush has been perfect to use to apply the lip products in my In the Balm of Your Hand palette!

Have you seen all the Christmas makeup GWP’s in Boots at the minute? This might not have been the only one I bought! Did you get any?

My Favourite Makeup Brushes

favourite makeup brushes zoeva real techniques no7 boots

I thought today I would share my favourite makeup brushes! These are the ones I use every day and some of them I have doubles for because I love them so much!

favourite makeup brushes zoeva powder real techniques setting brush

Some powder brushes I've used in the past are massive and while I like my powder, I sometimes feel a little like they make my makeup look a little cakey! This one is a great size and works perfectly to spread my powder evenly over my face! I got it in the Zoeva Rose Golden set which is expensive to fork out for but the quality of the brushes is amazing so it’s definitely worth it!

I never used to use this one until maybe the start of the year when I realised my powder brush wasn't great at reaching under my eyes and my concealer was creasing a little. This brush solves that problem for me! I sometimes use a different powder to the one I use all over my face such as a banana coloured powder to help brighten this area and it works so well, I couldn’t be without this one now!

favourite best makeup brushes no 7 blush zoeva luxe sheer cheek brush

No7 brushes are seriously underrated! This is actually the third incarnation of this brush I have gone through. It was in the first brush set I ever got years ago in a No7 Christmas set and I used it for blusher until replacing it when it got a little too worn looking and starting to use it for contour. I then rebought it a few months ago as they updated the brush line and mine had started shedding a little! This is my favourite brush for contouring as it's quite small but not completely flat so there are no harsh lines and it fits nicely under my cheek bone! It’s really soft so blends easily and it’s probably my favourite brush ever! I've got about 2 to 3 years daily use out of each of the previous versions I've had and while it’s quite pricey for a drugstore brush, if you get them with a £3 off No7 voucher they work out much better!

I switch quite frequently with this brush and a Zoeva 128 Cream Cheek brush depending on what blusher I am wearing but at the time of taking these photos I had just got the Hourglass blush palette (found it in stock online at John Lewis!) and this is the most perfect brush for applying those blushers! I have preferred to use an angled blush brush for the last few years as I feel I can apply my blush much more evenly and this and the Zoeva 128 are the perfect size.

favourite makeup best brushes real techniques base shadow angled zoeva pointed crease wing liner eye brush

I actually have two of these brushes, one from the starter set (of which this is the only brush I rate) and one from the Nic’s Picks set. This is by far my favourite brush to apply eyeshadow with. It’s soft, flexible but not too flexible and applies just the right amount of eyeshadow. I wish they would make this available as a single brush because I would definitely pick up a couple more, mine are starting to look a little battered but they still work really well!

At first I thought this brush would be too stiff to apply a darker colour in my crease but it works perfectly to add a bit more depth to my eyes!

This is my favourite blending brush to use, I love that it’s angled! I find it fits my crease better and allows me to blend more effectively! This is another brush I wish Real Techniques would sell separately as I love it so much!

This is another brush I have two of and originally talked about in this post! I use this bamboo handled one for my eyebrows when I’m using powder for my brows or my Anastasia Dipbrow pomade and I also use the one from the rose gold collection to apply eyeliner (usually just a black eyeshadow). It’s not too firm so I get a really natural look when using this!

I generally use my fingers or a Real Techniques sponge/Beauty Blender to apply my foundation so don’t really use brushes for that! Let me know what your must have brushes are!

Forever Repurchased #1 Highstreet/Drugstore Edition

drugstore highstreet repurchases soap and glory nivea garnier vo5 no7 revlon

I do empties posts often enough now I thought I would put together a post featuring some old favourites of mine that are repurchased again and again and I can’t see myself switching up anytime soon!

drugstore highstreet repurchases soap and glory nivea garnier vo5 no7 revlon

First off we have my favourite makeup removal team, I always do a double cleanse at night and to begin with I will take a few cotton pads and use my Nivea Lotion for normal skin to dot on my face and gently remove my makeup. The Soft & Pure Cotton wool cosmetic pads are so absorbent and the Nivea is really creamy and works well to remove the bulk of my makeup before I go for my second cleanse (where I usually use a balm or oil cleanser).

soft & pure cotton wool cosmetic pads

To remove my eye makeup which daily includes eyeshadow and a lot of waterproof mascara, I use an oil based eye makeup remover, my favourite being the Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover. This is so gentle, it doesn’t sting my eyes and most importantly, it’s very effective at removing my eye makeup without me having to rub or drag my eyes.

Next up we have a few makeup repurchases including my favourite daily foundation. If you like affordable high coverage with a good range of shades for those with paler skin then Revlon ColourStay foundation is your guy! It was included in my empties post last week and I mentioned then that I started panicking recently when I could find my shade in any Boots stores for weeks and thought they had discontinued it! I finally found it and bought two which should keep me going for a few months! I used to favour applying this with my fingers as it tends to set quite quickly so I like to use the warmth from my fingers to help spread it evenly but recently I have really been enjoying using a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to apply it! My sponge is on its last legs though so I am thinking of upgrading to a Beauty Blender soon!

drugstore highstreet repurchsases makeup revlon colourstay soap and glory kick ass no7 powder

I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer on make up in Boots recently to restock my favourite concealer, Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light, as I've hit pan and I use it daily so it won’t be long before it runs out! I have a full post on this concealer and why I love it so much already here but in short, it's creamy, has a peach tone to correct under eye circles and a yellow tone for discolouration as well as a mini powder to set and is the perfect size for handbags. I love it!

I also repurchased my favourite pressed powder – No7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder in Translucent and used a £3 off No7 voucher while doing so (gotta love Boots offers). This is amazing at stopping shine on my oily t zone and I never hear it getting raved about! With other powders I have to top up at lunchtime and sometimes feel my makeup can look a little cakey afterwards but with this I just apply in the morning and that’s me to the evening! It’s amazing!

drugstore highstreet repurchases vo5 refresh me quick dry shampoo

Last but not least, another product I feared had been discontinued, my beloved VO5 Refresh Me Quick Dry Shampoo! The scent of this is so fresh and clean and even better, it leaves no white cast! I’m so happy to see this back in stock, I usually buy mine in Savers as it’s a little cheaper and I hope it sticks around this time! One of my favourite shampoos was recently discontinued and I can’t take anymore disappointment!

So those are my forever repurchased products that I can't see myself replacing with other products any time soon! Have you tried anything I’ve mentioned? What products do you constantly repurchase?
